LeBron James says he has 'no relationship' with Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

It's not a matter of if LeBron James passes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the No. 1 spot on the NBA's all-time scoring list, it's when. James sits just 1,326 points away from passing the Hall of Famer and Los Angeles Lakers legend, a milestone that should happen at some point this season given James is still performing at peak levels and is coming off a year in which he averaged over 30 points a night. If he averages around the same amount of points as he did a season ago for the Lakers, James could break the record somewhere in the middle of the season, assuming he stays healthy. It's a highly anticipated moment heading into the season, but in regards to LeBron's thoughts about and his relationship with Abdul-Jabbar, he didn't have much to say on the matter. Following the Lakers first preseason game Monday night, a reporter asked James what his thoughts were on the Lakers legend and if the two had any relationship, to which LeBron gave a very short answer. "No...

Stephen A. Smith Believes Skip Bayless Is The Analyst Most Critical Of LeBron James: "He Ain't Playing. He Means It."

LeBron James is one of the greatest players of all time. There's no doubt that he has accomplished a lot in the league. Many younger fans happen to believe he's the GOAT of basketball. While that is a controversial take, it is widely agreed upon that LeBron James is the GOAT of this generation of basketball players. Despite his talent, LeBron James is not without his haters. One of his most outspoken critics is NBA analyst Skip Bayless. In fact, Bayless once claimed that LeBron James has been "the most overprotected and under criticized superstar" in the league. To me, LeBron James over the expanse of his career has been the most overprotected and under criticized superstar I have ever encountered. How can you defend Games 4,5, and 6 against Boston in 2010, when his owner accused him of quitting and somebody from his inner circle said that he had to be sedated? How do you defend Games 4, 5, and 6, that meltdown against Dallas in the Finals? That’s just impossible to...

NBA Fans Disagree After Kendrick Perkins Says Stephen Curry Is Sitting At The Table With Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Magic Johnson, And Larry Bird

Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, and he has recently won his fourth championship and his first Finals MVP. There's no doubt that this championship has improved Stephen Curry's legacy in the game. Kendrick Perkins has recently claimed that Stephen Curry is now sitting at a table with all-time greats in Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird. Many fans disagreed with that claim, with some roasting Kendrick Perkins for saying Stephen Curry wouldn't win any titles in the next 4 years. Steph Curry is officially sitting at the table with Jordan, Bron, Kobe, Shaq, Magic and Bird!!! Carry the hell on… #FinalsMVP While Stephen Curry has accomplished a lot in the game, it seems as though some fans are still hesitant to put him among the best of the best. With that being said, there are definitely some, like Stephen A. Smith that have suggested that Stephen Curry is a top-10 player of all time. "He’s a 3-...

LeBron James Calls Out The Fans Who Think They Are Basketball Experts: "It's So Funny To Me How Many Basketball Experts There Are On This App. Everybody Dr. James Naismith! It's Fascinating."

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers' season ended early as they failed to make it to the playoffs after an abysmal 2021-22 NBA season. Despite that, James has been constantly in the news for various reasons. Recently, he was showered with hearty congratulations after being officially announced as a billionaire by Forbes. It's truly a great achievement on James' part as he is still playing in the NBA and can further add value to his net worth very quickly. Anyway, today we aren't here to talk about that. Instead, we are here to focus on something that James tweeted. Considering LeBron got an elongated summer break due to missing the playoffs, the King seems to have a lot of empty time. This time around, the 37-year-old used that to call out fans who pretend to act like NBA analysts on Twitter. "It's so funny to me how many basketball experts there are on this app. Everybody Dr. James Naismith! It's fascinating." LeBron tweeted this after the end o...

LeBron James is first active NBA player to become a billionaire

LeBron James may not be playing in the NBA Finals, but he's still having a good June. According to Forbes, the Lakers star now has an estimated net worth of $1 billion, making him the first active NBA player to become a billionaire. Michael Jordan is the NBA's only other billionaire, but he didn't reach that mark until 2014, years after the stopped playing in the NBA. During his NBA career, James has earned over $385 million in salary from his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Lakers. He earned $170 million in 11 season with the Cavaliers, $153 million in his four seasons with the Lakers and $64 million in his four seasons with the Heat. James raked in a whopping $121.2 just last year. He is currently the league's highest-paid active player and also makes an estimated $900 million in income via endorsement deals and businesses.  "It's my biggest milestone," James told GQ in a 2014 interview about potentially being a billionaire one day. ...

2021-22 All-NBA Teams: Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo headline First Team, Joel Embiid makes Second Team

The 2021-22 All-NBA teams were officially announced by the league on Tuesday. Reigning two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets was named to the First Team, along with Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Dončić, Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum. Antetokounmpo was the only player to receive All-NBA First Team votes on all 100 ballots.  All of the players that were named to the First Team are 27 years old or younger, which marks the first time that has happened since the 1954-55 season, per the league. Based on that stat, it seems safe to say that the future of the league is in good hands. With his selection, Dončić became the fourth player in league history to be named to the First Team at least three times before turning 24. The other three players were Tim Duncan, Kevin Durant and Max Zaslofsky.   The Second Team is headlined by Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, who led t...

Dennis Rodman Once Said He, Michael Jordan, And Scottie Pippen Could Lock Up LeBron James: "LeBron Is So Easy To Play. He’s So F**king Easy To Play. He Doesn’t Have Any Moves."

If there is something that will never end it is the comparison between players from different eras. Even in that niche, most comparisons revolve around the legendary players from the Chicago Bulls. Yes, we are talking about the likes of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman. A perfect example of that was seen by fans back in a 2019 interview featuring Dennis Rodman. The Worm was asked about his thoughts on guarding none other than LeBron James. Rodman replied: (starts at 6:06) "You know who could lock up LeBron? Me, Mike, and Scottie could. F*ck yeah. I would have locked his a** up. LeBron is so easy to play. He’s so f*cking easy to play, he don’t have any moves. Only move he has is streak down the line. He ain’t got no moves. Where he going?? Where is he going that’s quick? That’ll be sh*t, you can stop that. Scottie Pippen would have shut his f*cking a** down quick before I get to him. His game is too simple, he’s just big. I’m 260 and 6’8” and 6’9”, that’s the onl...

Isiah Thomas Says LeBron James And Kevin Durant Can’t Be Considered The Top Players In The NBA Anymore: “One Got Swept And One Didn’t Even Make The Play-In.”

For the first time in 15 years, both Kevin Durant and LeBron James will not be participating in the second round of the playoffs or higher. LeBron James and the Lakers had an abysmal season, as they missed the playoffs altogether. Whereas Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets were absolutely dominated by the Boston Celtics in their first-round series, getting swept in 4 games and being the first team knocked out. NBA legend Isiah Thomas believes these playoffs could signal a changing of the guard and will force the NBA community to have a serious conversation about top players in the league. He noted that while LeBron James and Kevin Durant have been dominant for most of their careers, they both missed the playoffs and got swept in the first round respectively. Thomas believes a conversation about top players is overdue. "After these playoffs, we're gonna have to do some rethinking of who the top players are. We've had LeBron James & Kevin Durant in the top. One got swe...

Michael Jordan On LeBron James: "He's An Unbelievable Player, He's One Of The Best Players In The World... I'm A Fan Of His, I Love Watching Him Play..."

Even before he made it to the NBA, LeBron James was already compared to the greatest player of all time, Michael Jordan. His Airness made a huge impact on the league, winning six championships in eight years, dominating rivals every night, and becoming one of the best two-way players in NBA history.  During his career, and even during his retirement, many players were compared to Jordan, but nobody could live up to the expectations. LeBron James was deemed 'The Chosen One' when he was a teenager, and comparisons between him and MJ never stopped coming.  They have mutual respect, and the biggest proof of that came during the 2022 All-Star Game, where MJ and Bron embraced each other in Cleveland. James would post a big pic of his first and most recent encounter with Jordan, paying respect to the man that inspired him.  Just like the Los Angeles Lakers superstar has always shown his admiration for James, Jordan has done the same before. Back in 2020, during a press co...

Bill Simmons Suggests Blockbuster LeBron James For Kawhi Leonard Trade: "Maybe That’s A Chance To Reduce The Risk Of The Kawhi Contract And Roll The Dice With LeBron.”

The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers are both officially out of the 2022 NBA playoffs after the latter lost to the New Orleans Pelicans in the play-in tournament Friday night.  They blew a big advantage after coming back from a previous one, only to lose the match 105-101 at home, missing the postseason after a very solid season. These two teams are expected to have entertaining offseasons, especially the Lakers.  The Purple and Gold have some serious questions to answer, especially regarding their roster. Russell Westbrook failed to make an impact on the team this season, and not many people think he'll start next season as part of the team. As things stand right now, it seems like nobody on the Lakers has their spot secured, not even their Big 3.  LeBron James has been mentioned in some trade rumors recently, with some people placing him outside of the 17-time NBA champions. Bill Simmons of The Ringer recently dropped an interesting idea for the Lakers...

Skip Bayless Agrees With Shaquille O’Neal’s Comments That ‘Nobody Was Ever Scared’ Of LeBron James: “Exactly. Everybody Was Scared Of Jordan … Nobody Of Nice-Guy, Can’t Close LeBron.”

LeBron James is 37-year-olds and currently the most decorated active player in the league. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has everything an athlete could dream of achieving in the NBA. He has the championships, MVP awards, Finals MVPs, All-Star appearances, and more. But if there is one thing that James doesn't have, it is a clear path to being considered the GOAT of basketball. Even though Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan retired from the league almost two decades ago, most fans still consider him to be the GOAT. Now, James has certainly closed the gap over the years, but it seems really far-fetched that he might surpass MJ as the GOAT. Everyone has a different reason for their stance on LBJ not being the greatest player of all time. Recently. NBA Hall of Famer turned analyst Shaquille O'Neal shared his two cents about the same in "The Big Podcast with Shaq." "LeBron is my guy, but nobody was ever scared of LeBron. So, if you're not scared of a guy, y...

Why LeBron James deserves full blame for Lakers' failures, and should no longer have say in solution

It's LeBron James' fault. The Los Angeles Lakers' postseason hopes are officially over, the future seems bleak, and heads are likely to roll. Head coach Frank Vogel is widely expected to face a reckoning. The Lakers would like to find a way to offload Russell Westbrook, unlikely though that may be, after he almost surely opts in to his $47 million, final year option this summer.  Fingers can be pointed all around at a Lakers season that is a wreckage of the high hopes when the season began: At Russ, at Vogel, at Anthony Davis' injuries, at a front office that put as ill-fitting a team as possible around their all-time great superstar.  But it is, ultimately, the fault of the person in the Lakers organization with the most say and the most power who is to blame -- the one who used that sway to put into place all the elements that have led L.A. to where it now stands, with a failed season behind them and no clear path forward. This is all LeBron James' fault. The Ca...

Lakers' LeBron James says he wants to play with Warriors' Stephen Curry: 'I love everything about that guy'

Though the so-called superteam that the Los Angeles Lakers built this season didn't exactly yield the results they expected and James Harden brought an abrupt end to the Big Three of the once championship-favorite Brooklyn Nets, the practice of superstar NBA players joining forces isn't likely to stop any time soon. If the goal is to win a title, surrounding yourself with the best possible teammates increases your odds more than virtually any other factor. With LeBron James taking heat for the acquisition of Russell Westbrook that led to the Lakers officially failing to make the play-in this season in one of the biggest disappointments, odds-wise at least, in recent NBA history, it's only natural to speculate on the changes Los Angeles will make to its roster before next season. And if James feels the Lakers haven't turned themselves into a championship contender by the end of the summer, would he contemplate a trade demand? Unlikely, sure. But we've seen crazy th...

LeBron James injury update: Lakers star out vs. Suns as team faces potential playoff elimination

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James will miss the team's matchup with the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night due to a lingering ankle injury. James also missed L.A.'s 129-118 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday with the injury. The Lakers are currently in the midst of a six-game losing streak and on the brink of postseason elimination. The game against the Suns is an important one for the Lakers, who enter the evening two full games behind the San Antonio Spurs for the 10th seed in the Western Conference standings -- and the final spot in the NBA's play-in tournament. The Spurs also hold the season tiebreaker over the Lakers.  At this point, L.A.'s hopes of qualifying for the play-in tournament are grim, and they could come to an end on Tuesday night. If the Lakers lose to the Suns, and the Spurs beat the Nuggets, the Lakes will be officially eliminated from postseason contention. Without James' services, it will be very tough for the Lakers to walk away from Phoe...

Lakers lose again as LeBron James sits vs. Nuggets with ankle injury, play-in hopes fade further

The Los Angeles Lakers fell 129-118 in an important matchup against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday afternoon without LeBron James, who sat out due to an ankle sprain. James missed two games last week due to the injury, but did play Friday in a loss against the Pelicans. L.A.'s chances at the play-in tournament took a big hit with the loss to Denver as the 10th-place San Antonio Spurs can put some more space between them and the Lakers. LeBron has been dealing with this nagging ankle injury for quite some time, and he's mostly played through it. Lakers coach Frank Vogel didn't take any chances and sat him despite the crucial need for wins. With a brutal schedule to end the season that includes matchups against the Suns, Warriors, and another meeting with the Nuggets, the Lakers' play-in odds seem incredibly grim. And because the Spurs own the season tiebreaker over them, the Lakers are actually in an even bigger hole.  "Nobody is feeling sorry for us. We aren't fe...

Anthony Davis excellent in return, but Lakers' postseason hopes on life support after crucial loss to Pelicans

The Los Angeles Lakers seemingly got what they needed for the stretch run of the regular season when Anthony Davis and LeBron James both took the floor for Friday's crucial matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans. Needing a win to keep pace with the San Antonio Spurs for the final play-in spot in the Western Conference, Davis played in his first game since injuring his foot in mid-February, while James returned from a two-game absence due to a sprained ankle. Despite a productive game from both stars, the Lakers fell to the Pelicans, 114-111, making the path to the postseason incredibly difficult over the final five games of the season. Davis looked great from the opening tip, finishing with 23 points, 12 rebounds and six assists on 8-for-17 shooting in 37 minutes -- a healthy dose of playing time for his first game back. "I felt good," Davis said after the game. "Last four minutes was definitely a struggle. ... But up to that point I felt really good." Perha...

Jason Kidd calls LeBron James the 'greatest of all time' but his reasoning is a bit strange

Debating whether LeBron James or Michael Jordan is the greatest player in NBA history used to be fun. Now it's just tired. But the question is going to continue to be asked, and when credible people give an answer, we're all going to cover it.  Dallas Mavericks head coach and NBA Hall of Famer Jason Kidd is the latest to weigh in, and he's taking LeBron not just for what he's done on the court, but what he's done off it as well.  Jason Kidd on if MJ or LBJ is the greatest of all-time: "I think LeBron will go down as the greatest to do it. When you look at his numbers -- what he’s done on and off the floor -- no one’s done that. You got to put the whole package together. He’s the greatest of all-time." This is strange. I'm not sure how someone's off-court contributions have any bearing on determining who is the greatest player of all time. If we're talking about who's had the greatest impact, that's another story. But the greatest play...

NBA playoff picture, standings, projections, current matchups: Lakers fighting for play-in life Tuesday night

The Los Angeles Lakers play the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. Anthony Davis (foot) and LeBron James (ankle) are both likely out, and if the Lakers lose, they'll also find themselves out of the postseason picture. At No. 10 in the West, the final play-in spot, the Lakers lead the Spurs by one game in the loss column, but San Antonio has the tiebreaker via conference record.  We're going to be keeping close tabs on the playoff race with daily updates the rest of the way. Below is where things stand entering play on Tuesday, March 29. WESTERN CONFERENCE 1. Phoenix Suns Phoenix has clinched the No. 1 overall seed.  Current first-round matchup: TBD (play-in results)   2. Memphis Grizzlies  The Grizzlies have opened up an effective six-game lead over No. 3 Golden State with six to play, so they can't drop behind the Warriors. The only team that can mathematically catch the Grizzlies is the Mavericks, who trail by six in the loss column with the tiebreaker ...

Video Of How 'Fake Klay Thompson' Got Past The Warriors Security And Gets Shots On The Court

The Golden State Warriors ended up winning Game 5 of the 2022 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics and took a 3-2 lead in the series. It feels certain that the Dubs will win this series and win their fourth NBA Championship in the last eight years. While winning the finals will mean a lot for every player on the Dubs' roster, it will certainly mean more for Klay Thompson. Klay was sidelined due to injuries over the last two seasons and made a comeback this season. Finishing off the season with a ring will certainly be the cherry on top for him. Speaking of Klay Thompson, an incident took place around a certain lookalike of the Warriors' sharpshooter. We are sure you must remember the 'Fake Klay Thompson' who got famous a few years ago. Prior to Game 5 of the series, Fake Klay snuck into the Chase Center and got shots up before the matchup began. NBA fans found this hilarious, but it seems like the Warriors organization didn't. He was handed a lifetime ban from th...

Zion Williamson posts Instagram video of monster between-the-legs dunk while recovering from foot injury

Zion Williamson's status has been one of the great mysteries of the 2021-22 season. When he was initially diagnosed with a fractured foot, he was expected to be available in time for the beginning of the season. And then he wasn't. The New Orleans Pelicans offered only vague and inconsistent updates. Williamson himself never spoke. And now, with the season coming to an end, it appears as though Williamson won't be returning to the floor at all. After missing most of his rookie year, his third season is on track to come and go without a minute of game time as well.  Where that leaves Williamson moving forward, we can't say, but for the first time in months, the Pelicans forward gave fans a morsel of optimism. On his Instagram story, he posted this video of him doing a monster between-the-legs dunk. Zion Williamson just posted this to his IG story:  (And if you’re wondering if it’s recent, he’s wearing his new Zion 2 shoe in it) As Andrew Lopez of ESPN notes, the video ...
