Klay Thompson may have returned healthy to the Golden State Warriors last season, but the scars from his two missed seasons are still quite visible. The Warriors played their first of two preseason games against the Washington Wizards on Friday and will play another on Sunday, but Warriors coach Steve Kerr said that Thompson will not be playing at all during the trip to Japan. "Just feel more comfortable giving him a little more of a ramp up," Kerr said before Friday's victory over Washington. "He's just not quite ready to play at this point just based on where, you know, we're so early in camp. We just want to be safe and make sure he gets a good ramp-up before he plays in games." Typically, so little time to ramp up wouldn't be a problem for a veteran in a preseason context. The games tend to be so low-impact and demand so few minutes out of a team's best players that they can safely jog through them. Stephen Curry and Draymond Green played 1...

The Golden State Warriors ended up winning Game 5 of the 2022 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics and took a 3-2 lead in the series. It feels certain that the Dubs will win this series and win their fourth NBA Championship in the last eight years. While winning the finals will mean a lot for every player on the Dubs' roster, it will certainly mean more for Klay Thompson. Klay was sidelined due to injuries over the last two seasons and made a comeback this season. Finishing off the season with a ring will certainly be the cherry on top for him. Speaking of Klay Thompson, an incident took place around a certain lookalike of the Warriors' sharpshooter. We are sure you must remember the 'Fake Klay Thompson' who got famous a few years ago. Prior to Game 5 of the series, Fake Klay snuck into the Chase Center and got shots up before the matchup began. NBA fans found this hilarious, but it seems like the Warriors organization didn't. He was handed a lifetime ban from th...

The Golden State Warriors are headed to their 6th NBA Finals in the last 8 years. While that puts into perspective how crazy it was that LeBron James made 8 consecutive Finals, it is also much harder for a single team to enjoy that success over such a long period.  Players switch teams, stars get old, draft assets get depleted, etc. always break down once-great teams into lottery fodder. However, Golden State is in the third era of their core trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green and are going back to the Finals. The first era saw them win the 2015 title and lost the 2016 title in a shocking collapse. The second era was with Kevin Durant when the Warriors were basically unstoppable until injuries got them in 2019. After two years in the lottery led to some smart picks, the Warriors are right back there matching the 90s Chicago Bulls in terms of their proficiency in getting to the NBA Finals. Many people have been comparing these dynasties for years, especi...

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined for 59 points on 14 made 3-pointers in Golden State's series-clinching win over Memphis on Friday. Thompson carried the day, making eight of his 14 3s and 11-of-22 shots overall. Curry was 4-for-17 at one point before hitting two dagger triples as the Warriors finally put the Grizzlies away.  But numbers require context. Curry did not play well. He wound up with 29 points, and it's a testament to his all-time threat level that he was sloppy with the ball and couldn't make a shot for most of the night that he still wound up a plus-14 for the game, and indeed he hit the shots when they really counted, but looking ahead to either Dallas or Phoenix in the conference finals, he is going to have to be better.  The same goes for Thompson, who was terrific on Friday but has been forcing shots for a while now. It took an 11-for-22 showing in Game 6 for Thompson to finish the series above 40 percent from the field. He's not the defender ...

It's 2022, and Klay Thompson is still delivering huge games for the Golden State Warriors. In Friday's crucial Game 6 against Memphis, the 5x All-Star poured in 30 points and 8 rebounds in the 110-96 closeout victory. On Twitter, fans lauded Klay's performance and acknowledged Golden State's return to the Conference Finals. They also took the opportunity to troll Morant and his arrogant Grizzlies team. The Warriors are heading to the Conference Finals. They are INEVITABLE. “Hey Ja, how many games did the warriors win?” Warriors in 6 The Grizzlies were a formidable opponent for the Dubs. Not only are the Grizzlies younger, faster, and more athletic, but they are also well-coached and know how to control both ends of the floor. Sadly, we didn't really get the chance to see this Memphis team at full strength throughout the series. Ja Morant went down for these final games, and his presence could have changed everything for the Grizzlies. Nevertheless, it's the ex...

The Golden State Warriors have recently defeated the Denver Nuggets in Game 3 of their series. Though it was a close game, ultimately the Warriors prevailed due to their guard trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Jordan Poole. NBA analyst Kevin O'Connor has recently claimed that the Golden State Warriors are the favorite for the title once again. He stated that the Warriors' guard trio is the "best offensive trio" in the league, and added that Draymond Green is the "league's best defender", hence him picking the Warriors as the favorite. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Jordan Poole are the best offensive trio in the NBA. Draymond Green is the league’s best defender. Warriors have depth, experience. Other teams have injuries. The Death Lineup is back. Golden State is the favorite again. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Jordan Poole are the best offensive trio in the NBA. Draymond Green is the league’s best defender. Klay Thompson and the Warriors improve to 49-29. SAN FRANCISCO — Klay Thompson scored 36 points and the Golden State Warriors erased a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Utah Jazz, 111-107, on Saturday night (Sunday, Manila time). Jordan Poole added 31 and Andrew Wiggins had 17 as the Warriors clinched a playoff spot and snapped a four-game losing streak. At 49-29, they hold a one-game lead over the Dallas Mavericks for the third seed in the Western Conference. Utah is tied with Denver for the fifth spot. Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley each had 26 for Utah. It was an all-too-familiar storyline for the Jazz, who blew a 25-point lead in a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday. Utah has lost 15 games this season in which it held double-digit leads. Trailing 103-87 with just under eight minutes remaining in the fourth, the Warriors rattled off an 18-0 run to take a 105-103 lead with 2:10 left. Thompson hit three 3-pointers during the stretch. The Jazz had a chance to take ...

SAN FRANCISCO -- Chase Center was at a fever pitch. The Golden State Warriors, particularly their dazzling guards, were putting on a scoring clinic. They had extended their lead over the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks to 20 points just a few minutes after halftime, and the sweet fragrance of a blowout victory was growing more and more pungent. Nothing too out of the ordinary, if you've watched the Warriors' devastating third-quarter runs over the years. Oh yeah, except for one thing. Stephen Curry had five points at the time. The aforementioned spectacular guard performances came from Klay Thompson, who finished with a season-high 38 points on 8-for-14 3-point shooting, and Jordan Poole, whose 30 points and five 3-pointers were as electric as anything the building has seen this season. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr started the three guards together for the first time all season, citing the trio's excellent synergy and the premonition that the Bucks would defend Curry...

The two NBA stars began their conversation by addressing their collective snubs. Nearly 25 years after Dominique Wilkins did not appear on the NBA’s list of its 50 greatest players, the former Atlanta Hawks star spoke with Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson about his recent exclusion to commemorate the league’s 75th anniversary. “You’re one of the top 75 greatest players,” Wilkins recalled telling Thompson during an interview with NBA.com. “I know how you feel.” The conversation continued about an injury that has often altered or even ended NBA careers. Nearly 30 years after returning from a season-ending injury to his right Achilles tendon, Wilkins shared his clairvoyance that Thompson would do the same. “So many people count you out when you go through an injury like this,” Wilkins said. “You know your heart. You just got to stay focused, diligent and tough. You can get back from this.” Thompson listened to Wilkins’ words intently while the two hung out in the Warriors’ ...
