Ja Morant is having a historic series against the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the playoffs. He single-handedly led the Grizzlies to a win in Game 2 with a sensational fourth-quarter performance. The thing that Ja does that is different from others is that he treats every win like a big win.


Morant has a tendency to hop on Twitter post-game and start tweeting out messages to all the people who have been hating on him. This is something the Grizzlies have embraced this year, but as they keep winning, people have started taking an issue with it.


With every win, the hate toward Ja increases, so a fan decided to step in and share his thoughts on the fans being hypocritical towards Ja because if Steph Curry was the one to celebrate like that, people would have no problem with it.


More fans have stepped in to defend Ja after this tweet went viral. However, there is an argument to be made that Curry has earned his position in the league to trash talk others as he is already a 3-time champion and a 2-time MVP (only unanimous MVP in league history).

steph a proven goat of the game, win or lose. ja talkin like hes jordan, dancin like shakira, and aint never won or did nothin. plus curry aint walkin around yellin too small and mcgriddling logos stop it.


It’s almost like one is a 3 time champion, best shooter of all time and the other still has to prove himself


Steph is certified while Ja hasn’t done anything


Ja is in year 3, has been to the playoffs twice and is currently in the second round. He can be as cocky as he wants to be, people need to just appreciate the swag and move on.


He’s got rings, broken records, what has ja done? ROTY??? MIP???


While it is fair to use Curry's accolades as an example for Ja to 'earn' the same stature, it is unfair to dismiss Morant and his reason to celebrate completely. His Grizzlies team has overperformed all three seasons he has played in the league. They narrowly missed the Playoffs in 2020 when they were expected to be one of the worst teams in the league, made the playoffs in 2021 when expected to miss it, and have been one of the best teams in the league this season.


If celebrations can trigger such arguments, fans need to refocus on the game, because that is what makes players like Morant and Curry incredibly special.
