LOOK: Thunder vs. Grizzlies game delayed as both teams wore white uniforms


 


The contest between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night was delayed for an interesting reason -- both teams showed up to the court in all white uniforms. Clearly, some signals got crossed somewhere and that led to some serious confusion prior to tipoff. 


The two teams couldn't both wear white uniforms for the game for obvious reasons. Luckily, teams typically have alternate uniforms on hand, and that was the case here. In this situation, it was determined that the Thunder were supposed to be in white. So it was the Grizzlies who went back to the locker room and switched out of their white kits and into blue ones so that the game could continue as planned. 


The mix-up was amusing, but also understandable. The NBA allows teams to wear any uniforms that they want for games, so it's not like home teams are limited to light jerseys, or away teams can only wear dark jerseys. 


With their blue threads on, the Grizzlies went on to pull out a 125-118 victory over Oklahoma City. Desmond Bane led the way for Memphis with 21 points and seven rebounds, while Jaren Jackson Jr. had 18 points and five rebounds for Memphis. MVP candidate Ja Morant also added 17 points, 10 assists and five rebounds.
