Jaylen Brown was able to leave the court under his own power after being attended to by Boston’s training staff but headed straight to the locker room.
The Boston Celtics suffered a blow when Jaylen Brown exited Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks with an ankle sprain. Brown was ruled out for the remainder of the game, but the good news is he didn't appear to have too significant a limp as he made his way to the locker room under his own power.
The Celtics obviously can't be without Brown for long. Again, the injury didn't appear too serious, but even a week or so out will be tough for Boston to shoulder. The Celtics are tied with the Raptors in the loss column for the No. 6 seed as of this writing, with both teams in action and the play-in tournament on the other side.
Jaylen Brown was driving to the basket with 9:15 remaining in the 1st quarter when he rolled his right ankle.
Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown suffered a right ankle sprain while driving to the basket early in the first quarter and will not return.
Brown twisted his ankle after stepping on De’Andre Hunter’s foot and immediately fell to the floor in pain, though he was able to walk to the locker room under his own power.
Brown, who missed three games earlier this season with a hamstring strain, entered Tuesday night’s game averaging 23.7 points and 6.3 rebounds through 49 games.
After facing the Grizzlies on Thursday, the Celtics will have three days off before facing the Nets on Sunday.
