James Wiseman’s big brother-like viewpoint of Warriors teammate Jonathan Kuminga, revealed

Over the last two seasons, the Golden State Warriors had three lottery picks in the NBA draft. Each young talent has shown flashes of greatness, leading many to believe they will have promising futures. Lately, one of this year’s rookies Jonathan Kuminga has been playing at a very pleasing level, and James Wiseman is happy for him.

“I’m proud of the dude because he works hard every day,” Wiseman told ClutchPoints. “I’m very grateful that he’s on the team with us. I’m just very proud that he’s out there doing his thing.”

In the last seven games, the No. 7 pick in this year’s draft has played some of his best basketball. He’s starting in place of injured All-Star Draymond Green and averaging 15.7 points on a team-high 58.3 percent from the field.

Jonathan Kuminga’s raised level of play comes at a good time for the Warriors and him personally. The team needed someone to step up and give some of what they are missing without Green on the court, and it also came at a time when the Rising Stars game needed a fill-in for an injured player.

Wednesday it was announced he would be Chris Duarte’s replacement after the Indiana Pacers rookie suffered a toe injury. Now, the Warriors will have five players participating during the star-filled weekend.

There’s another matter to deal with before the weekend begins. The Warriors have one more game to get through against the Denver Nuggets. Hopefully, they can end this portion on a good note and secure another victory.
